The Montreal Gazette reports that Olympic Stadium, former home of the MLB Montreal Expos, will most likely be getting a new metal roof, to replace the kevlar tarp that has been in place since the venue opened in 1976. It never worked quite right, and has been a permanent fixture of the stadium.

If approved, work should begin following the November 23 CFL Grey Cup game.

Speaking of Grey Cup, the USRT has secured our game tickets for the event, and we are eagerly looking forward to this road trip to one of our absolute favorite travel destinations on the continent! We are keeping our fingers crossed for an alignment of the planets, and a home game of the QMJHL Quebec Remparts that same weekend, It would mean a visit to Quebec City and the Pepsi Colisee, which of course is a former NHL venue.

The Q releases their 2008-09 schedule in July. Here’s hoping!
