Okay - I go back to Jabbar, Robertson with the Bucks. Lost contact with the game because no one else in the barracks would watch. So I’ve been away from the sport for a while. But when you see Lakers - Celtics finals, makes you sit up and take notice. This brings back the excitement. Bucky is an asshat who wouldn’t know quality ball if it bit him in the ass.

I absolutely do not want to put words in anyone’s mouth, but his line of thinking reminds me of many others of my generation who sounded something like this:

“I used to follow the NBA back in the 80’s. I LOVED the Celtics when they had Bird, McHale, and Ainge.”(translation: I liked them cause they had a bunch of white guys that could play.)

“I hated the Lakers and that playground Showtime crap. Especially Magic.”(god damn “urban people” and that “inner city” style of basketball.)

“Didn’t follow the NBA after Bird retired.”(No more whiteys to root for. NBA got disinteresting.)

“Kinda stayed interested though when Jordan played.”(Dude was so awesome that I can handle an “urban guy” playing that great. Kinda like I could watch Philly with Dr. J. He was kinda like that.)

“Now the NBA is nuttin’ but a bunch of thugs that can’t shoot free throws, have no concept of fundamentals and are always crying to be traded if life isn’t perfect.”(Damned delinquents like those “urban guys” Ron Artest and Allen Iverson and whiners like Kobe.)

Ergo - The NBA Finals aren’t worth staying up for no matter who is playing.

Me personally when the Knicks were out of it, I was on the Sixers wagon. The Doctor, Mo Cheeks, Moses, Chocolate Thunder before him, Bobby Jones. That was a fun team to watch.

Wow.

I don’t read Bucky (or any News columnist that isn’t Harrington really) so I missed this one but jesus effing christ if Paul Pierce isn’t a true Celtic who the hell is!? As someone who’s just old enough to remember Bird’s final years in Boston, Paul Pierce IS the Celtics to me and plenty of Boston fans in their mid 20’s. The dude has done nothing but play his god damn heart out for some AWFUL Celtic teams and even managed to suit up for the C’s a few weeks after GETTING STABBED 11 TIMES.

If he took a swipe at the Finals because of all the game fixing stuff in the news right now that would be understandable but to call out Paul Fucking Pierce is retarded.

Go back to bitching about the Sabres Bucky. At least you’ve watched them play before.
