The British are coming!!!

For several years now we have had a pen pal relationship with a fellow named Chris Boyes from the United Kingdom. Boyes stumbled on the USRT site a while back, emailed us then, and the correspondence and a blossoming email friendship has continued ever since.
What is most interesting about Chris Boyes is that he is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan, and has also jumped on the Buffalo Sabres bandwagon. Rare is the Monday morning in the fall when there is NOT an email in the box commiserating on the Bills game the day before (or night before as there is a five hour time difference). Back home he cheers hard for his beloved Wolverhampton Wolves soccer team, and we got the blow by blow howls of anguish from Chris when they were relegated out of the Premier League a few years back.
With the NFL and NHL schedules now set, the trip is an official one - Chris Boyes, his wife and two children will be traveling “across the Pond” right here to Western New York this fall. The four of them will be attending the Sabres season opener on October 5 against the NY Islanders, and then on Monday, October 8, Pete and I will be taking Chris to the Monday night game at The Ralph against Dallas.
Boyes and his family will be staying downtown during their visit and plan a jam packed week of sightseeing here in Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
We want to make the Boyes Family visit here a truly memorable one. Any thoughts or ideas? Any suggestions for them on must places to visit? Please chime in!

Don’t know when they arrive but a trip up to Toronto on the 4th for the Toronto FC/New York Red Bull game might show’m that despite what most of Europe thinks, some people over here actually DO care about MLS.

The 28th floor observation deck at the top of City Hall has been refurbished and is open for visitors. There is a 360 degree panoramic view of the entire city.
Food choices downtown — Barbecue, Fat Bobs. Subs, Jim’s Steak Out. Fine Dining, Buffalo Chop House. Casual Dining, TGIFs.
Erie Basin Marina should still be open.
Have a great visit to Buffalo!
